Energy Planning Consultants
Since the late 1970’s,
Energy Planning Consultants have been advising and preparing energy plans
for state and local governments. The first Colorado Petroleum Shortage Emergency Plan was written in
1984 and updated on two occasions by our company. We have also completed
energy plans for Delaware, Wyoming, New Hampshire, Arkansas, Wyoming, and Kansas
(click here for more descriptions). These
state energy plans cover all-energy related shortages such as: electricity,
motor fuels, aviation fuel, coal supply for power plants, natural gas,
heating oil, and propane. Many of the state energy offices were formed in
response to the energy crisis of the early 1970s. These offices have evolved
to become important agents of change - researching, demonstrating and
deploying emerging energy technologies. These offices spur energy-related
energy solutions that address their citizens' needs and increase our
national energy security. Recently, EPC has completed several
city and local government energy plans.
Energy Planning Consultants
identifies
strategies (mitigation) to eliminate the energy hazard or mitigate the
effects of the hazard that cannot be eliminated. The mitigation strategy
shall be based on the results of hazard identification and risk assessment,
impact analysis, program assessment, operational experience and cost-benefit
analysis. The mitigation strategy shall consider, but not be limited to the
reduction or limitation of the amount or size of the energy supply problem,
and possible redundancy or duplication of critical systems, equipment,
information, operations, or materials.
Our
energy mitigation strategy establishes interim and long-term actions
to reduce the effects of a loss of energy supplies such as electricity,
natural gas, propane, and motor fuels.
