Fuel Conversion Nozzles for Emergency Operations

Convenience Stores & Gasoline Stations - During an extended power outage gasoline stations are unable to pump fuel. Without electricity gasoline stations in a disaster area cannot operate the submersible pumps in the underground storage tanks. When the "Electric Grid" is down, convenience  stores cannot pump fuel, process credit cards, and cash transactions without emergency generators and are forced to close (see generators).

Refineries and Pipeline Terminals - Most refineries and pipeline terminals do not have emergency generators. When the electricity fails the built-in safety measures and electric interlocks shut off all fuel pumping. This is a safety feature that prevents accidental fuel discharge and environmental damage at these facilities. Refineries and pipeline terminal may be encouraged to install emergency generators to power the facilities

When The Electricity Fails!!

When the electricity fails such as recently in Florida, Louisiana, Alabama etc. gasoline stations, motor pools, and fleet managers were unable to get fuel. During a motor fuel emergency, 8,000 gallon tankers can be located strategically located in communities or along highways. There are thousands of these delivery trucks and they can become a portable fueling station station. The cost for the conversion nozzle assembly for the large transport truck is range from $400 to $925 depending on the type of truck. These are the 8,000 gallon tankers which pick up fuel at refineries and pipeline terminals. Most of these have four-compartments to hold different gasoline blends and diesel. 8,000 gallon trucks deliver to gasoline stations, motor pools, and independent jobbers.

The 5,000 gallon fuel delivery trucks are equipped with a hose-reel and meter. These trucks are used to deliver heating oil, diesel to emergency generators etc. These trucks usually fill up at the local fuel jobbers.

The 2,500 gallon fuel delivery trucks are equipped with a hose-reel and meter. These trucks are used by construction companies and smaller fuel jobbers. These trucks usually fill up at the local fuel jobbers.

Propane delivery trucks are equipped with a hose-reel and meter.  These trucks usually fill up at the local propane fuel jobbers.

ASTRA

ASTRA is the fleet fuel dispenser series that is just the right height. Designed specifically for aboveground storage tank installations,

500 gallon above ground storage tank. A transfer pump may be used with this tank. Requires deliver and setup with power. 1,000 gallon above ground, skid mounted tank. Hill Petroleum, Denver, Co has several of these for emergency use. Hill petroleum has mounted a fuel delivery pump and a 5 hp. Briggs and Stratton engine.

Capital City Oil in Topeka, Kansas purchased several old anhydrous ammonia tanks that were out of service from the farm industry. Used pumping units out of old gasoline station cases and powered them with a 3.5 hp gas motor (more information).
